Our Approach

Respectful Relationships

Mount Clear College believes everyone in our community deserves to be respected, valued and treated equally.

We know that changes in attitudes and behaviours can be achieved when positive attitudes, behaviours and equality are embedded in our education settings.

Respectful Relationships is about embedding a culture of respect and equality across our entire community, from our classrooms to staffrooms, sporting fields and social events. This approach leads to positive impacts on student’s academic outcomes, their mental health, classroom behaviour, and relationships between teachers and students.

Together, we can lead the way in saying ‘Yes’ to respect and equality, and creating genuine and lasting change so that every child has the opportunity to achieve their full potential.

The Respectful Relationships Program involves a whole-school approach and requires the support and involvement of students, families and staff.

Resilience, Rights and Respectful Relationships (RRRR)

Teachers are provided with the resources and professional development to deliver the Resilience, Rights and Respectful Relationships (RRRR) Curriculum.

It is our aim at Mount Clear College that each student leaves us with a solid understanding of what a respectful relationship looks and feels like. Students will understand their rights and responsibilities, have recognition and acceptance that everyone is unique and personal strengths identified. In addition, it is expected that as part of this program, students develop strategies they can implement when faced with difficult situations and know how to access support in their school and community should support be required.

The Resilience, Rights and Respectful Relationships (RRRR) Curriculum has strong links to many other areas of the curriculum including English, Ethical Capabilities and Health and Physical Education.
