The Daily Grind
Students can proudly display their hospitality skills
Mount Clear College is very fortunate to have its own fully functioning café – ‘The Daily Grind’.
The café was originally set up to assist our VET Hospitality students complete their set units and modules, providing a ‘real life’ café environment to perfect their skills and understand the processes of a fully functioning business.
Due to the success of ‘The Daily Grind’, a vast array of students now utilise this resource and space to help them complete set tasks and practical outcomes. Our Year 12 VCAL class use the café to complete Work-Related Skills which allows them to participate in a fully functioning café, learn skills that are practical in real life situations and gain full ‘on-the-job’ training and experience.
Our students work in the café during the week serving both students and teachers – the café is always a bustling hub at recess and lunch times. Visitors to our College are amazed by this great resource, with our students welcoming these opportunities to proudly display their hospitality skills.
