Extensive sporting program

With participation in sport a driving factor to healthy lifestyles and fostering relationships, Mount Clear College strives to deliver students the chance to grow and develop through sport. Although success in competitive sport is important to us, our fundamental objective is to promote within students an interest and enjoyment of healthy living and practices that support a healthy lifestyle.

Students also have access to an after-school inter-school sports program (Ballarat Associated Schools – BAS). Students may participate in divisional, regional and state level sports as well as in the local House sport competitions.

We offer an extensive sporting program at Mount Clear College. Students have the opportunity to experience and compete in a vast range of sporting activities, such as:

School Sport Victoria

Mount Clear College is a member of School Sport Victoria through the Eureka and Greater Western Region Divisions. Students represent Mount Clear College through a variety of sports competing against other schools in team and individual events such as AFL, Soccer, Cricket, Volleyball, Netball, Basketball, Badminton, Hockey, Swimming, Athletics and Cross Country.

Ballarat Associated Schools Inc. (BAS) offers excellent opportunities for students to compete against Ballarat Government and Private Secondary Schools in weekly after school competitions. As an affiliate member, Mount Clear College provides students the opportunity to compete in Lawn Bowls, Volleyball, Baseball, Basketball, Badminton, Hockey, Soccer, Table Tennis, Netball, AFL, Squash and Racquetball, Mountain Biking, Tennis, Golf, Croquet, Cricket, Ultimate Frisbee, Swimming, Athletics.

How do students sign up?

Year Level Coordinators will announce when sport signups are happening, during year level assemblies. Students should then contact the College Sport Coordinator to sign up.

What sports uniform do students wear?

Students can wear their College PE uniform, orthe College will provide playing uniforms for team sports, such as Netball, Soccer and AFL

How much does it cost?

Depending on the competition and location, the cost is between $10 – $30 per term.

What if I am interested but don’t know how to play?

Still sign up. We do lunch time trainings and can teach you the skills and rules you need to join in and have fun.

How do we get to the competition venue?

Our College will provide transport between the school and venue.
