To study at Mount Clear College, students will need to meet certain conditions, called eligibility requirements. There are three components in the eligibility requirements:
English language requirements, academic requirements and interview requirements.
English language requirements
Secondary school students should have a certain level of English language proficiency before commencing their course of study and must meet minimum English language requirements as follows:
Completion of an intensive English language program in Victoria over 20-21 weeks before starting school (subject to assessment)
Proof of demonstrated English competence, including that the student has:
» received English instruction for 2 years or more, or
» been taught in English at an international school for at least 2 years, or achieved:
» a general IELTS test score of at least 5.5, or
» an AEAS score of 66 or higher, or
» an internet-based TOEFL score of at least 69, or
» an EIKEN score of Grade 3 or higher for Year 10 entry, or Grade 2A or higher for Year 11 entry.
Students must have gained a grade of 60% or higher across all subjects completed in the previous two years.
All international students who wish to study at Mount Clear College will have an interview with one of our English teachers. Students are expected to demonstrate the basic English language competencies in the interview. Students need to be able to understand and then respond in English to a range of questions posed by the English teacher. Questions will be based around familiar topics, such as personal information, hobbies, life in home country, schooling, aspirations and expectations of life in Australia.
